Over 30 views and not one comment, not sure if it is good or bad LOL

I think all did a great job on the first sector of this swap… Remember gang it is not a trip but a journey!!!

Well, I personally have viewed all of these flies (Tiers 1-9) more than once myself. I have to agree with Stage 1’s assessment. These are some of the best beginners wet flies I’ve seen on FAOL. Good proportions, no bulging heads, no crowding the eye, nice slim bodies, sparse hackles, excellent use of materials. Just fine examples of wet flies all around. You should fish these flies with confidence, for they will surely take fish.

Congratulations on a fine swap. Looking forward to January’s examples.

REE

Some excellent looking flies here!

Those are some very good flies and very well tied. Need to move these tyers from Beginner’s to Intermediate! They have all done a very good job of tying and they should all be proud…

Like REE I have also personally viewed all 9 fies and enjoyed them very much. I would also like to personally thank the Swapmeister for posting the pictures and recipes for the flies as not all Swapmeisters do that. I follow all the swaps but only get a few glimpses of the flies that are completed. Again, thank you Steve.

Member 10 dropped out of the Beginner’s Only Fly Swap, so I sat down and tied my version of a Soft Hackle Fly Pattern that I use for Bass Fly Fishing…

I did this to make the swap complete with 10 seats occupied. After tying my twelve flies, I decided that I need to spend more time at the fly vise… so I will be filling the tenth seat for the remaining four swaps.

Here is my contribution to the November Soft Hackle Swap…

Soft Hackle Salmon/Steelhead/Bass
Swapmeister Parnelli

Hook: Salmon, heavy, size 8.
Body: Purple Rayon thread.
Hackle: Almond Pheasent.
Head: Black thread, danville 6/0.

The rayon thread is from JoAnn Fabric as is the Almond Pheasent. The rayon is two tone, the two rayon thread segments that are wrapped around each other on the spool are different shades of the same color. In this case the color is a darker purple and a lighter purple.

Simple, minimum materials, quick tying, very effective fly pattern.

Had a member drop out of the November Beginner’s Only Soft Hackle Swap, due to medical reasons. So as Swapmeister I filled the missing seat.

Here is my contribution…

Soft Hackle Fly - Salmon/Steelhead/Bass
dressed by ~Swapmeister Parnelli
Hook: Salmon hook, size 8.
Body:Rayon thread, purple.
Hackle: Almond Pheasent.
Head: Danville black, 6/0, nylon.

After dressing 12 of these, I decided that I need more time at the fly tying vise, so I will filled the open seat for the remaining four swaps, unless some person want to join. ~Swapmiester Parnelli
