Count me in I’ve only been tying for 8 months now. I have a few patterns that are great for stocked rainbow lakes around here. I can tie my marabou or rabbit fur leeches, some nice chronomids, or since they always seem to produce for me some mickey finn’s.
Just let me know what anyone prefers and I will pick a pattern.

I think I’ll be tying some mickey finns or some rabbit fur leeches. Both patterns are great beginner patterns, some of the first I started tying almost 9 months ago. I’ve caught nice rainbow trout on both patterns consistantly. ( I fish usally about 5 nights a week since there is a nice stocked lake 5 mins from my front door). I’ll get going at the tying tonight if I don’t get fishing so I make sure I get them done ontime.
Hey Harvey, my ability says beginner but I have been tying for about 50 years so don’t believe I qualify for your swap. How about I enter my grandson Cody. He will tie a Japanese Beetle we do real well with.
I decided to go with the rabbit fur leech pattern I tie as it is a very simple yet effective pattern that can be modified to suit local needs. Well I got them finished too long before deadline.
I am starting this new post so it doesnt get too confusing with all the edits.
So far we have six tyers the way its going we may have 12 in no time at all so just figure on tying one dozen flys. So if any of you have already tied a dozen flys and want to send them early to get it out of the way here is the info.
Send your flys in a crush proof container with a self addressed stamped means of returning your new flys to you, make sure its big enough and has enough postage, please no metered postage.
Also a fix some sort of tag to identify your flys so I can Identify them for the others.
Send to

As soon as I have all the flys I will send them back out to everyone even before the deadline if they are all here.
Have Fun

This is the current list as of 7/5/06, we have a nice variety of patterns. This is my first swap and I cant wait to be catching fish on the flys I get, that is if it ever stops raining long enough here in east central pa for the streams to be fishable.

I talked to my son yesterday and he wants to join up, if you guys dont mind. He would like to tie San Juan worms. He has only been tying about 3 months but he loves it.
Wireguy, I’m sure your #16 light cahill’s will be great and catch many fish I could have used one this morning when I was out and discovered my go to fly box was missing from my vest. Seems I have lost it, looked everywhere for it. Either I lost it loading my gear into the car last time I was out (Pitch black when I stopped fishing last time 11:30pm), or when I went for a swim tripping on a submerged stuff in the trout pond I was fishing. I guess I just have to re tie my go to fly box and I’ll be set again.
My flys for the swap ( 6 Rabbit hair leechs and 6 Mickey Finns) are tied and I will send them the end of next week. I just have to finish tying for another swap as well so I can maill them all at once.
