been using a furled leader on my 3 wt.

My accuracy is improved markedly. I simply tie about two feet of tippet to the leader (grey color) and cast away. I have had these leaders for a year and only now decided to try one. Probably will convert on of my five weights to a furled leader as well. My casts are clearly smoother and my ability to hit my target area on the water is much better. Definitely I have more control. Give a furled leader a try. You might be surprised. GOod fishing to you.

I have a Feather-Craft special on my 2 and 3 and am so comfortable with them, I’m putting them on a 4 and 6 and maybe my 9WT later on. These are a little different having a small rust-proof ring on the end to tie the tippet to. I feel the same as you do. My casting (to me anyway) looks and feels better and the line lays out much more smoothly. No “roostertail” on the pick-up either. I agree whole heartedly. If anyone is so inclined, try one. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I could not agree more they are quite nice
when they are designed and used correctlly.
I have used many types in the past and have found some not to work very well.

Furled leaders do take special care
and use but I beleive they are certainlly worth the effort. I like to fiddle with my gear so I may be off the mark a bit
but keeping them clean and pasted well is key…

Mr.Cramer in my opinion makes some of the best I have ever used.

Take care!
