been fishing to long

  1. a day on the water is more important than the fish caught
  2. no longer need the latest rod, line etc
  3. have fly s that are older than most people i see fishing
  4. most of my old fishing buds have moved on
  5. the good old days are always better than today

Flyrodder1,
The only one I disagree with is #5. What I have learned on “each” of the good old days has made today even better.
Good fishin’ to you!
Mike

ohiotuber, but you know the fish was always bigger back then.we could fish all day with out getting tired, but tomorrow will always be better than today.

Hi Folks,

Being about three weeks from my 60th

birthday, every fishing trip I make is
listed in the profits column in the ledger
of life.G Warm regards, Jim

Jim Hatch, you know your really old , when at a yard sale a guy has 2 shoe boxes of burnt cork handle rings and you know what thy are… then he says, think thy are worth 2 bucks and you act like a kid with his first bike.

Here’s one Jeff Foxworthy might have come up with…

“If you learned (like myself) to fly-cast with your Dad’s fairly new BAMBOO rod…you might be an Old Fly-Fisher.”

Gigmaster, good one, my dad never let me use his,had a old steel fly rod as 1 st rod.then glass was the rage. bamboo rods was put out to pasture and us kids fished them. lol …
