Derek Fergus, the inventor of the Hale-Bopp, used to sell a dubbing for it. Probably the closest thing to it would be a blend of Angora goat. It’s tied in a dubbing loop and fairly sparse so the fibers really move in the water. The way Derek ties the tail is not quite like the standard wooly bugger. He trims small bunches of marabou from the feather and ties them in at different lengths so the tail is tapered instead of being squared off. It can be tied in any color. I like olive. It?s a very effective lake pattern. Good luck.
