The bass must be starting their fall forage. I caught like 5 the other evening and 6 tonite. Also caught a few bluegill a 2 nice crappie. One crappie was about 14". I think I caught the same one earlier in the spring. He just looked familiar 
Sorry… I’m a big c&r fan, but the only time I “recognize” a crappie is while he’s on the way from the cornmeal to the grease! 
I completely understand. But where I was fishing was a golf course pond at the lowest elevation on the course. Pretty much all the chemicals and such drain into that pond. I won’t take any fish from there home to ‘batter up’. Seemed like a nice crop of yearling bass. Maybe in a year or so they will be biggens.
