New member here a I was reading Beginners tips and went to Al Campbell basic fly kit suggestions. He stated he had designed a beginning kit for the company he worked for. My question is what company did he work for. :?:
Welcome mac,
Glad you could make it.
Al Campbell was the buyer for Scheel’s All Sports, a chain of 22 stores across the midwest. He managed directly the operation of a Scheels store in Rapid City but the managers of the two fly shops I shopped at, (one in Iowa City and one in Lincoln, NE) both knew Al and spoke very highly of him. AC had one of the most generous spirits ever given to man. He is sorely missed here but his spirit continues through the deep archives of treasures he shared with all of us here at FAOL. You can’t go wrong by following his sage advice and his tutorials here.
Welcome, again, mac, you’re in for a treat as you dig through the voluminous pages.
Enjoy.

mcsteff,
First I must apolgize since I was not aware that Mr Campbell had passed away.
Thank you for the warm welcome and the information on Scheel’s. I looked up their site on the net and did not see anything on fly fishing. So that leads to another question. That I will probably post on the fly tying side of the bb.
Thanks again…
Mac
