Barrett's Lucky Strike (Carnage variation) SBS

Based on Barrett Christiansen’s take on an old parachute attractor. With the floating properties of peacock somewhat lacking, I though it could use a little help.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
core - 20lb mono
tail - moose body hair
underbody - 1mm foam brown
body - peacock herl
wing - Congo Hair white
hackle - grizzly (oversize by 1)

Part 1

put a loop in the end of a piece of mono; tie it in

tie in a loop of CH; trim butts

measure (2x hook length) some moose body; tie in/trim butts

hook loop onto the gallows; wrap hair up the core and back down

tie in foam strip

brush core with Super Glue

wrap foam up

brush on a little more glue, wrap foam down, tie off/trim

Part 2

tie in some peacock herl up to base of tail

twist peacock with thread, wrap down the underbody; tie off but don’t trim peacock

release from gallows; trim mono

post up CH; tie in hackle (shiny side out)

wrap peacock in front of post; tie off at base of post, trim

wrap hackle down post, capture tip with thread wrap around bottom of post

double half-hitch at bottom of post, SHHAN, trim wing

Scott

Very nice !
