Baetis Nymph Pattern in the Ozarks?

The wife and I are going to camp and fish in the Ozarks in mid-October. Wonder if a Baetis Nymph will work for trout and/or small mouth bass?
Also, which size should I tie?

Thanks very much, John

You bet. I would stock up on soft hackle red ass and brown spider type flies in 14,16,and 18 also small sow bugs and even smaller midges as a dropper behind a y2k bug or other egg pattern under an indicator can be deadly. Providing you are not in a trophy section were single barbless is the rule. Don’t forget to stay out of the redds where those monster browns will no doubt be spawning.
As for the bass and the trout you will do well with some larger red fox squirrel nymphs as well as olive and black buggers. This time of year you can get into some big fish so bring a 6wt. and have a blast. Good luck to you both. Chad
