It seems to me that many depictions of knots, (both online and in print), show knots tied incorrectly. For example, in the link noted above, the blood knot and the clinch knot are both tied incorrectly in my opinion. Both show an overriding diagonal knot part that weekens the knot. In other words, the knot has not "flyped’ (rhymes with typed). This term describes how the knot turns inside out when it is tightened carefully by pulling on the standing line. A carefully tightened knot that correctly flypes is much stronger.
