The life cycle of the caddis fly, larva, emerger, dun, adult and spinner. The stage after laying eggs. Some times referred to as a spinner fall. They are dry flys characterized by their outstretched wings. Hope that helps.
I have a pattern book entitled Spinners by Sylvester Nemes of Bozeman, Montana. The copyright is 1995.
If it’s OK,. I’ll do one of Davie McPhail’s Spent Gnats.

I tested this out this afternoon on the Hiawassee River. I don’t know about trout (I was on the upper non-trout section), but the bluegills murdered this thing. I nailed 25 in less than an hour (and just got through eating them,…mmmmmh). And the fly is still plenty fishable. These are nice and tough.
Bill,
At first thats all I could think of and I was wondering if some how FAOL switched gears on Me when I wasn’t looking…God I need a Vacation:shock:
Bill
I have one more change to my pattern. I didn’t have enough yellow either, so I went to Hobby Lobby, and all they had in 3mm foam was white, so I am back to the original pattern.
