Anyway the swap sign up ends Sept 5 ? please send 12 worms (you will get 12 back even if we end up with less than 12 tyers ? toe tag your worms, provide a self addressed stamped return envelop ?please put your flies in a container (Atloids tin works great)- Flies due Sept 30

How many ways are there to tie a San Juan worm - now’s the time to see - a fly swap for anyone to join in- begineers to experts - tie up your favorite San Juan pattern - bead head in the middle - a knot in the middle or somewhere - a strange color but it works. I will be tying a size 10 caddis hook with (get this) shami leather for the worm body with a copper wire segment on the body - limited to the first 12 tiers - sign up ends when we reach 12 or Sept 5. Worms due Sept 30, that way we can fish them during the fall runs - fly swap details will be posted after the sign up period. This is the start of a dropper series that will take place during the late fall and winter months - Mike

Count me in for a Fire-Tail San Juan.

I’ll play. Mike runs a good swap. Probably will be a basic run -of-the-mill SJW but they work on DH trout in Georgia.

I would like to join the swap. This will be my first one. I would like to tie a peach or maybe orange D-Rib worm. It deviates a little from the traditional San Juan pattern, but it is a worm and it is used on the San Juan River.

Thanks!

OK, I’m in this one, if I may.
I will tie a two-toned Wonder worm (It’s a “wonder” it catches fish). Just a plain Jane Red worm is my go to pattern, but every now and then this worm is the ticket.

Wayne

Friends of Canada are invited -

The Fire-Tail San Juans are in the hands of the USPS.

Flies were mailed this evening. Their name:
“San Juan Surgi-Fly”. Nothing fancy. A different material I use for my Wax Worm pattern. It will catch fish though. Kahuna

My flies are in the mail, Mike. There’s some dubbing in there for you in case you want to tie some of these.

The Infamous Pink Worm
Hook: #14 barbless dry
Thread: red
Abdomen: orange dubbing
Body: flourescent pink ultra chenille

Here’s what Fred Bridge, the creator of the fly, said about it:
Small shot about 8" above worm, size and number to suit water conditions. You want it on or near the bottom. Fish dead drift. Takes usually are gentle as the fish just suck the worm in. If sight fishing, drop worm above to slightly to side of fish and try to stop it on the bottom, near the fish. They will move to pick it up. As good as or better than the Green Weenie and Red Hot for the past two years.

received flies from 8 tiers - see first post- one more packagesand we are done - Congats to Jon on his first swap his worms are really nice.
