hook -Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - UTC 140 chartreuse
rib - x-fine wire chartreuse
tail - calftail white over red
abdomen - antron dubbing insect green
body hackle - dark ginger
wing - mule deer
legs - medium barred rubber red

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 3/4, tie in rib and wrap to the bend

clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of red calftail; tie in

repeat with white; wrap to 3/4 mark, trim butts

dub thread/dub body

tie in hackle; wrap to tail

Part 2

capture tip with wire; continue rib thru hackle to 3/4 mark, helicopter end, cover with thread, trim hackle

a bit more dubbing

clean, stack, measure (halfway point of tail) a clump of deer hair; trim to length

spin bobbin to tighten thread, tie in with 2 soft loops; maintain pinch on deer hair, pull tight

cross thread over deer hair back to 3/4 mark and tie down wing

tie in legs

cross thread over head to eye, half hitch x 2, SHHAN; trim legs
