I saw Byard Miller using that light at the Flyfishing Show in Marlboro Mass and I don’t think I could use it. The light casts a blueish tint and wouldn’t be good for my eyes. The beam of light does not spread out it just points down. The cost is also prohibitive for my wallet
I have this light and use it occasionally. My only complaint about it was that the light quit the second time I used it, but that was quickly replaced by the dealer where I bought it. The second gripe is the blue color. However, I have a small BuckLite that I used as a replacement until I could replace the original light. The BuckLite works much better, having a more natural color, and a brighter beam. I simply removed the magnet from the defunct light and epoxied it to the BuckLite. I now have a very functional, lightweight travel light.
I purchased a flash light that looked exacly the same 8 leds in all, just nothing to mount it to my vise. I used it at work for a couple days and it stoped working. The batteries are in my MAG light now working fine.
