I get this notice more times than not when clicking the back button to surf more of FAOL & can’t figure out why? Never did this before when online, & thought maybe the Control Panel would have a solution, but to no avail. Glitch ?
Sorry dave, no idea. I don’t get it. :?
More times than not, say I click on the Saltwater Forum then a topic to read…read it . . knowing I read alot slower than the speed reading days of college & then click the back button : the expired web page notice on Internet Explorer comes up. Have to go back to the bookmarks, then FAOL, then Bulletin Board, then Saltwater…etc Just timely & maybe because of dial up, but rarely before when on FAOL.
I get the expired…after posting then hitting the back button…then I have to go to refresh …and then retry…I can avoid that by not using the back button then…there are other ways…
This soulution might help, a trick a friend of mine taught me. Press the “Alt” key to the right or left of the space bar and the “left” arrow button instead of using your mouse. As a side thought, are you up to date with all the current downloads from Windows or Internet Explorer?
Happens to me all the time. I’ve just learned to live with it. It IS a pain though when attempting to post a reply and taking time to compose thoughts. If this takes TOO long, touching the “submit” button causes the screen to show “page expired” and you lose all of your super witty and thoughtful reply and you have to start all over ( drat).

I’m used to double clicking on the Back button. I don’t like it but as long as I get where I’m going that’s fine.
Doug
OK, some ‘TECHI’ guy! explain what is happening. I used three browsers and can not make it happen, If it is something FAOL is doing, I want to correct it.
JC,
I just wanted to comment that since the upgrade is when I’ve noticed the web page expired. Maybe I’m wrong?
Web page expired isn’t too bad for me since I’ve got a fast connection.

Sounds like a browser issue to me or perhaps a local server issue, not FAOL. I have high speed DSL and use Mozilla Fire Fox for a browser. The only time I have any issues is with I.E. Explorer.
Folks, try switching to this browser:
Happens to me as well. Not a problem, I just live with it.
I get it sometimes and I use IE. when I do get it I just click the forward icon and then hit back again it seems to “catch up.” I also use the “alt” “left arrow” buttons together but I haven’t paid attention to it happening from that command.
JC I wouldn’t consider there being anything wrong with the web site. It’s just one of those little things we all learn to live with.
always remember there are three rules for getting along in life:
1) Don't sweat the small stuff.
2) Go with the flow.
3) Always remember that everything is small stuff.

Eric,
I just wanted YOU to KNOW! YOUR MY favorite Person of 9-6-07!!!
Thanks,
Doug P.S. Eric, is there a WAY of Speeding up the Scrolling Feature? Thanks!
It is on IE that it occurs, so might try the Netscape Browser to see if it’s less timely without the expired notice. Might be that it started after the FAOL upgrade, but then again just changed ISP within the past month. Nice to know I’m not the only one having to stop to "tie on another fly " to get back to the forums .
Sounds like you got it under control. I was afraid I would have to send Doug down there to help you.[/url:3b5ec]
If he ever shows up down there please make certain to introduce him to your favorite 15 foot gator. [/url:3b5ec]
Just joking, Doug.[/url:3b5ec]

For windows: Start menu, control panel, mouse or pointing device, wheel tab and increase or decrease the number of lines for scrolling, click on apply. Yes I do windows![/url:acfb8]

First guide I hired to learn some of the river had a 21’ Carolina Skiff. I saw a big tree down on the bank of the river about 100 yards upriver & wondered just how many times lightning takes down trees? Well it turns out that the guide says it’s a gator & we float up beside it with the engine off. That great grand daddy of a gator was longer than the CSkiff ! Started thinking twice about fishing out of 12’ plastic bass boats in the same waters ! 8)
That would be a humbling experience! Great story!
Thanks,
Doug
What was humbling was when the guides nephew’s kid wanted to catch the gator on a fishing plug & the guide fired up the outboard. That gators eyelids opened & it was up on all 4’s & fully disappeared into the water in the same amount of time it took to blink those eyelids open  8)
