Anybody tried a peacock ant?

I’m sitting her tying some beetles that use peacock. Suddenly found myslef wondering if I could tie an ant pattern using peacock as the body material and a little black herl around the middle. Anybody ever try this? Results?

Thanks!

Here’s one from Edmonds and Lee’s “Brook and River Trouting” Bill

No. 33
Ant
Hymenoptera
Hook 0
Wings - Hackled with a light blue hen’s hackle.
Body - Orange brown silk, No. 6b, dressed full at the tail with bronze Peacock herl, then a few turns of the silk towards the head, then dressed full at the shoulder with bronze Peacock herl.
Head - Orange brown silk.
August to second week in September.

I’ve tied and fished peacock herl ants - they work about as well as thread ants. Not nearly as durable. [You want to stay with sparce hackle between seperated body parts IMO]
