We have so far had a warm and unusually dry winter ( read fire danger) here in OK. I have been out once a week fishing since late December. My buddy is fishing 3 times a week. We have been fishing for crappie & bluegills with a 124th oz marabou jig under an indicator. Certainly not exotic fly fishing but we have been catching lots of fish. The last few weeks we have been catching a few small bass in the 15 to 18inch range. Yesterday we caught 6 bass 1 20 inch catfish and 30 0r 40 bluegills and crappies. So is anybody else fishing?
i used up some fine fishing days in jan. swatting mosquitoes on deer stand. now that it is finally over we will have some winter weather for sure. did catch some last sunday before going hunting, high for this sat guessed at 52…maybe???
I’ve been some when the mosquitoes are not biting really bad! This warm weather is really wierd. One day 35, next day… a high of 63.
My fish are all deformed. Their head grew to close to their tail!

I’ve been doing a little fly fishing here in Pennsylvania for carp. Caught two in the month of January. The last one was on Monday, January 30th. Definitely an uncommon winter. My suggestion: Take advantage of it.
I have been out several times, but today was the first time I caught fish.
Got eight crappie over the lunch hour.
