Anticipation of Things to Come...

I know that spinner1 has helped us all along with his anticipation of opening day, and that Betty hiner has reminded us all of the dark side of the ‘shack nasties’, so I thought I’d do this once more in anticipation of warmer days and rising fish. Here are some photos that remind me of things to come. I thought maybe some of you would like to post some of those photos that warm the soul and help you get through the last remnants of winter.
It was zero degrees Farenheit as I left for work this morning. In Idaho Falls, ID it was minus 17 degrees with wind-chill. Despite the wonderful clear and sunny days we are still in winter’s icy grip and I’m feeling a bit shut in and trapped. So, before the ‘shack nasties’ get me in their grip again, I thought I’d post a few pics of my favorite ‘better-weather’ haunts.
Hope you’ll feel like sharing also…

Thanks for posting.

My goodness, I NEED TO GO FISHING

Man, don’t we all brother!

luckie88, I use Photobucket to store my photos. I shrink them in size down to 600 x 800 and save them in a special file then I go to Photobucket and download them to that site and then I copy them for use in my FAOL posts. Sounds like a lot of work, but it’s not. All of the photos I posted today were already saved in Photobucket so they were easy to retrieve for this post.

Good topic!

What I am anticipating real soon…When these guys start hitting the water as adults…

Early spring dry fly action with big flies.

No more midges for me. Any day now!

Ah, Skwala magic. The biggest meal those trout have had all winter. No wonder they love 'em so much. Got some decent patterns for the nymphs and dries?

Kelly.

This guy Glissmeyer sure knows how to hurt a guy. He’s fishing in all my fishing holes. Taking pictures to boot. Difference is, HE’S CATCHING FISH! All I’ve got is pictures of water and mountains. Now we’re all lined up in the blocks, waiting for the gun to go off, and the Starter is nowhere around! I think the Shack Nasties set in a bit early this year.

Great stuff Kelly. I had my wife cuff me to the kitchen table, so I didn’t stampede.
Let’s see if this will work.

"and that Betty hiner has reminded us all of the dark side of the ‘shack nasties’, " Huhhh?? Wha’d I do?

Just keep smilin’ girl. You just give us all hope with that positive attitude and quick wit! Great to have you here.

Had a couple real cold nights and the shelf ice came back big time.

Fished the middle from the other side and picked up half a dozen trouts and a whitefish on a skwala nymph.

John

Last Year on the Grays or Hoback or Snake ??? So many rivers. So little time.

Mark
PS: Anticipating the same scenario again this year but waaayyy in Sept/Oct. Lord willing…

John, you dog! Thanks for sharing. Looks like beautiful country and water and I’m sure you’ll be there when the ice is all gone and do even better.

Mark, you can’t go wrong on any of those waters you mentioned, but I am partial to the Snake, since it’s nearly in my backyard. Thanks.

Hey, I’m sure there are many, many more that have some pics of their favorite haunts when the weather’s better - put them up and let’s see them. Thanks to all who have participated and thanks, in advance, to those who will.

Kelly.

 Here’s a pretty little thing! Unfortunately, I have no idea where he came from!!
