Has anyone heard of the Mastery Freshwater line? I saw it on LL bean’s website and there is not description of it Scientific Anglers Website. I was wondering if it was a repackaged version of their headstart line.

You may be talking about SA’s Ultra 4 Freshwater. SA and Mastery are the same lines. I have read that they have some sort of exclusivity contract with someone, so they started a second label, but not a different line (both have the same coating).
I just put this the Freshwater WF on my 3 wt. and the Freshwater Bass Taper on my 8wt. The lines cast as well as anything I have ever used.
coltranem:
Raw is correct; there is the Sci Angler’s Ultra 4 Freshwater fly line in the Sci Anglers branded product line.
In the Sci Anglers Mastery branded product line there is no specific line with the name Freshwater BUT…
…I took a look at the L.L.Bean website and it appears to me it is the way they are describing the lines they offer. They are referring to the Mastery fly lines for fresh water and the are using the word freshwater in their description.
According to my recently received catalogs; other than the aforementioned SA Ultra 4 Freshwater; there is no other line with the name Freshwater.
If you read the description of the line on the LL Bean website…it is the same color as SA Mastery HeadStart…Same price too…Maybe just a typo on their website?
They have the good stuff on sale. It is not Headstart, but they are selling it at Headstart prices. GO FOR IT!!!

The line that LLBean has on sale is Scientific Anglers Mastery Series. I ordered and received yesterday some Trout in a 4wf. The color is willow and not the same color as the Headstart line.
This is great line. I have fished the Trout line before and really like it. You can’t go wrong with the Mastery series line.
