Not sure if fly fishing is any safer. Have you ever seen the amount of lead some of the “chuck-n-duck” crowd use when steelhead fishing? Yeah, baby, gotta get the fly “down in the zone.” "Hey, Murray, bring down another 75 of them-thar 1/8 oz split shot. I’m still not on the bottom.":p:p
I only needed one time to get hit in the head then my rod tip to start trying my own minnow pattern. But its hard not to still use a Clouser every now and then.
