Another insert, a bit out of the usual.

I was digging through carving blanks and found a little basswood practice blank which is the same size as most pen blanks. My mind went haywire and this is what I came up with.

It is basswood with a wood spirit carved into the top side of the seat. The color comes from a wash of burnt umber and brown with a polyurethane finish. PacBay A5 hardware.

Kevin

That is brilliant, I have a wood sprite carved in Germany… yours is like having one of the Fly fishing gods right there on your fly rod… great work…

Wood Spirit??? I thought it was William Lee Golden from the Oak Ridge Boys.

Nice work as usual Kevin, you could be on to something. Think you can do a decent facsimile of Elvis?

Or one of my, not so distant, Neanderthal relatives! Nice Kevin!

Best regards, Dave S.

I love it. It should have a name. It’s kind of spooky but in a friendly way. (did that make sense?)
