Another Hook & Hackle Customer

This is my first post, although I have gleaned lots of helpful infomation from this BB. I sent this e-mail to Ron at Hook & Hackle. He asked if I would share it on this site. So here is is…

Ron,

I want to say thank you for selling a great product. I bought a Forecast Rod kit (7.5 ft, 3wt) and finished it before leaving for trout fishing in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I used the rod for the first time there; and I even caught a nice little rainbow with it. I love this rod. It is so responsive, easy to cast, and beautiful!

My other rod is one I bought from Cabela’s. This new rod makes the Cabela’s rod feel like a dud.

Here is a picture of me and my new rod in front of our cabin at Happy Trails Cabins in Silver City, SD.

Good to have you aboard! As you’ve lurked a bit on here, you undoubtably know that this is the best site going! Jump on in anytime!

H&H blanks are really good blanks. A great number of us have built on those blanks, and thoroughly enjoy our finished products.

Hey Rev,
Nice job on the H&H rod.
I will forgive the presence of that spinning contraption in the picture, this time.

Craig,

Looks like you built a nice rod. Important thing is that you like its performance. Good luck with it and the next one(s) you build and you will. Believe me. LOL.

Wednesday Caster,

How’d he get my ‘Zebco’ in the background? (-:

Allan

Thanks for the comements. I will have to fuzz out the mentioned rod and reel in the background. My next rod building project is to built rods for my three sons, so we will all be using H&H rods!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Rev Craig,

I just built that rod also 7 1/2’ 6" 3wt Forecast blank from H&H. It is one super rod - I have to agree. I haven’t had a chance to do more than lawn cast with it so far, but I will be getting out soon.

Next time try to use a smaller picture, makes it scroll for many of us.

How can I make the picture smaller?

If you use Photobucket, there’s a place to edit your picture … make it smaller . Just click on it, and it’ll take care of it for you.

How’s that…better?

How’s that…better?

Nope, not yet. Edit the post on FAOL, delete the picture. Go to photobucket, edit the picture, copy, return to FAOL and paste it where you want it.
Not to worry, you’ll get it!

Is this better?

Rev.

You nailed it!!
Welcome to a great site. Just remember to wipe your feet and no cleats in the club house!! Come join us in the chat room some evening.

P. S. That was the second rod I built, terrific little rod. I also built a couple of 7’ 6" 4 wts. for Christmas presents.
