Paul, my sincere thanks for your outstanding photography.
Paul,
Those flies are beautiful. Truly works of art. I’d be curious to know what was used for the underbody. Thanks for the post.
Wow… Those flies are getting ‘pricy.’ I can’t afford to go for them, but I do hope they end up in a safe place. Things like those are part of our American heritage, not just trout flies.
The Ebay site of the George Grant, Woven Fly Fishing Flies Auction, also has a donation link that anyone can use to help the cause, by payment through PayPal, using a valid credit card.
This is a great way for those who do not want to bid on any of the wonderful sets of flies, yet want to help is some small way, to help the cost to preserve the memory of a person who never said “NO!” to helping anyone interested in any aspect of Fly Angling, Fly Tying, or Fly Rod Building.
The character and dedication to this wonderful past time is reflexed through all who emulate people such as Al Campbell, and all the others, on who’s shoulder we stand taller because of their efforts.
Just One day left to bid on this incredible collection. If You havn’t checked it out yet, You should do so now before its too late.
Ps. the bidding is already up to $151.00 for a set of 5 absolutly perfect rare flies.
Winning bid $255.00 . $50.00 per fly about what my flies cost me when you deduct everything I spent on the vice, hooks, and materials lol.
Fantastic!,
and “thank you” to ALL who bid!
