And the MADNESS (fishing season) begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went by one of the lakes yesterday just to take a peek.
The ICE IS GONE FROM MOST OF IT!!!
Since this wate recived extra truckload of fish last month it should be GOOOOOOD.
I’m going this Sunday and I do not care what the weather gonna be like!!! I jsut want to do some fishing. Something I was not able to do since November.

If you crazy enough feel free to join me. However I must warn you. Unless you are nuts enough to launch some sort of watercraft (and mine is still under a pile of snow) the chances of catching trout on fly rod are almost nil unless of course you can cast 120ft.

For the bank fisherman the only thing that works is a spinning takle.

My new rod is about finished an it will see some action soon.

If anyone is interested the place I’m talking about is: Hidden Lake, Monroe County, PA.
It’s the only trout water round here open for fishing in March. If you need further info or directions PM me.

Otherwise bundle up and come meet me at the shore “right after luch”.

Mikie
There is a season??!!

Trouting all year round here!

This was in December!

I am off the wall jealous right now. Round here the streams either freeze, you cannot get to them cause the snow is just too deep and even if by some miracle you manage to get there the fish won’t bite… Maybe, just maybe I should consider moving south…

Than again I get three months of fly tying and working round the house so that when the season starts I can spend two days a week fishin…

Jack -

Some places have five seasons - winter, spring, summer, fall, and fishing.

And then some of us live where there is just one - fishing season.

Got it good, don’t we !?

John

37 degrees. 40 mph wind. Yup you guessed it. I could not stay home. Went out there with the rod I just build and five minutes later…

And this is a water that gave them up:

I was out there for 5 hours. Hooked abot 30 bows landed over a dozen and did the LRR on the rest :-).

It was a blast and now my vitals are slowly returning to normal.
I will have to repeat this thereapy about a 100 more times before next winter and maybe I will survive after all…

Nice fish!

You only need to move south of I-80. We can fish year round down here and you are welcome to come along anytime.

I went out to Little Buffalo and fished Holman Lake today. I caught my first trout on my new boo but he broke off as I was trying to land him and get my camera at the same time. Oh well, nice little 7-8 inch rainbow.
