Fat Bill and I are planning on Sunday the 13th. I should have my new supply of Dupont Spinners by then. The only problem we will have is going by Cabelas and not stopping!
Brad

oh man! how can you drive by Cabelas and at least not pull in the parking lot!

You and Jack will have all the best places picked out long before we even get there…

Right now I am a shot in the dark. I don’t know what days but I do know I will more than likely be first part of the fish-in. Jack, do we still need fire wood? If so, where do I take it?

I’ll be there on the 15th about 1 or 2 and plan to get some evening fishing in. Can’t wait to see my old friends again, and make some new one’s.

Jonezee;
All the firewood you can bring to Kneff Lake Campground!!
Al Thomas;
And a lot of new ones too!!

Folks, as I understand it, there will be a SIGN-IN board for everyone at Gates Au Sable Lodge. It should include where everyone is staying, room and campground numbers included. It will make it easier to arrange fishing and whatever.

Plan on leaving Monday the 14th and drive 8 hours or so, get a hotel room and then get on the road early Tuesday so we can arrive by mid-day. That is if I can work out a snag that came up with vacation days. My buddy has hired a guide for a couple days later in the week and I will fish with them 1 day. Hopefully I can bum a ride from Wyandotte Lodge on his 2nd day with the guide. Plus there are a couple people that live in the area I hope to drop in and visit too.

Buzz I will be staying at the Brown trout suite at the Gates Lodge. I’ve missed you and Nancy also, it’s been a long time between visits. Jack, you are right, you always make a lot of new friends at the fish-ins.
Buzz, we will definitely do some fishing together.

Jerry I’m quite sure we can come up with a ride for you.
LF Jean DeSavage is going to help with the registration. With so many we may just have form to fill out with name, online name, where staying, etc. There will be name tags available also.
Jonezee the map on the Fish-In page is a good one. Sometimes I don’t trust MapQuest!!

jack, you are right about the map. FAOL map is perfect, thanks.

How big is the campground, do I need to make reservations for a spot for my truck? Don;t need a hook up.

Jonezee;
They have 28 sites, first come first serve. Up to 10 people per site as long as it’s not overcrowded. You are going to be one of the easy ones to find a spot for. The US Forest Service normaly allows 2 vehicle’s per site. You list all plate numbers on the site registration form and the extra cars can park in the day use lot at no charge.
I will verify this with the Mio Ranger Station.
