Unfortunately, I was taking a bath at the time.
Dang, I was getting all excited to hear about some new fishing and all I see is PHISHING! Just because it is cold doesn’t mean ya gotta turn into a troll!

Gee Gardenfish, is it December already?
Once a year… whether you need it or not…
I was hoping the “old lady” was around the corner with a bucket of ice water.
I spent an hour flogging the bluegill and bass pond recently. They are hibernating. I watched waterfowl for awhile and then decided a hot bath was the ticket and it was. It has only been a few weeks and I am missing those panfish already.
GF- nice to hear you had a bath…I think…and yea…it is a bummer that the fish are hibernating. They’re pretty much hanging tight here in NC as well. My last three or four trips out in Nov resulted in fewer fish each trip and then finally…auugghhh! I was SKUNKED! First time all year. My favorite pond just north of me is surrounded by deer stands and hunters and I avoid it until after Jan. 1 when the whitetail season closes. BUT, if it’s warm any that month, I’ll give it a try. Sometimes I cheat and will tip the fly with some “food” - like a Berkley maggot- just to help me get a bite. I know it’s not “pure” FF but catching fish in January can call for desparate measures. Looking at my fish pix I found this one dated March 2005 of me hefting a fine specimen from said pond. Now March is right around the corner and deer season closes even sooner. Yay!
Don’t forget to scrub behind the ears!
Steve
I fish, therefore I swam.
Me too - it’s under the ice.
HideHunter,
That sure is a cute polar bear cub sitting there in the background of your photo. Did he help himself to your channel cat?
Joe
Noticed the bear cub too. He looks REAL intent on something.
lol… That’s the owner’s ‘guard dog’. He was guarding my other fish.
(gotta chew the photographer’s butt. supposed to be watching your background.)
I went out today and found lots of hard water, about 6 - 8" of it. Didn’t fish though…it’s so dang hard to do a decent strip in a 10" dia hole.
To fish or not to fish?
What a stupid question.
