Almost done!

Hello again all. I have had an exciting week or so! I received my H&H 9’ #4, 2 piece kit exactly 10 days ago, and to my amasement, it’s almost done! All that is left is to install and wrap my hook keeper, buying and using a small artists pen for making the approriate markings on it, then apply then wrap epoxy and VOILA!!!

I am planning on doing the epoxy in two steps. I am going to coat the tip section first and then the butt section after the tip has had time to setup. Using my trusty new cabelas rod turner and motor, hopefully it will come out nicely!!!

So now for a question or two. First how do I go about posting a picture here?

Secondly, I am stuck with a delimma. I am using the charcoal IM6 blank and am wrapping everything with Garnet colorer thread. I tell you it looks nice. Problem is that I don’t live near a shop that has thread preserver formula made for fly rods. Is there anything else out there that I might be able to get locally from somewhere that will work instead, without having to mail order?

I know I don’t have to use the thread preserver, but wife likes the look of it so much right now, I might think about using thread preserver.

Thanks,
Reg

To post pictures:

1.) Reduce your pictures using photo/graphics software to a size suitable for the web. At 72 ppi try to keep the pictures under 500 pixels wide. In addition, compress them to reduce their file size. Try to keep them under 50K in file size. The smaller the files size the faster the load time. This is real important for viewers with dialup.

2.) upload the picture(s) to your own personal web site like the one you get free with Internet service. Contact your ISP for information. You can also use one of the free photo hosting sites, like photobucket.com, to upload your pictures to.

3.) Once you have done that just copy the URL of each photo and place it in your post with the code as instructed in the “UBB code” link at the top of this page or as in the example below:

Your picture will appear where you have placed the code.

RCaillouet3;
Let me know what artist pens work? I got some of the Cabela’s and forget it, don’t waste the money. I am thinking of getting some pin striping brushes and paint.

I see you are a pilot, may I ask for who (whom I think is correct, but…). I spent several year as a 3rd crew member for General Motors Air Transport Division. I had the important job, Bar Tender or Ball bearing stewardess!
Have to swap war stories some time! Once on final into Frisco I looked out a starboard window on my last cabin check and there’s this Cesna about 30 yards out and 30 yards back! I told the captain about it and that the guy had a dark hair and wearing sun glasses, he was darn near in our prop wash and hidden from radar and the tower!! I had his number though and the tower got him off our butt. You have to try and make the 2006 Ausable Fish In! We could swap stories all day and they would be true!!
