All round nymph?

Hello everyone,

I’ve tied a few nymph’s which we can use in Europe at different places.
I don’t think this is a new nymph, but by this I give you the tying steps of this easy to tie nymph.(only pictures but I think that’s enough)
Make a nice body whith a ribbing

Tie in material for an elytron plus at both sides goose biots and some peacock hearls

Make a thorax whith the peacock hearls, make the elytron, and this is the result:
An easy to tie nymph

From above:

p.s. excuse for my poor English, it’s not my native language…

very nice quick tie

inderk,

Wonderful dressing. Simple and neat, my favorite type of fly.

inderk; Don’t worry about the English. Your Nymph talks for itself. Good One! Keep on tying and have Fun. Jax

I like the looks of that fly too, I think I may be able to handle tying that one…

There will definitely be some in my box as well. Nice tie!

real nice!!! looks good to me!

Good to see you here Inderk (Henk…)
Nice tie, think I’ve seen it before…
Best wishes from Zwolle.

Hoi Hans,

Nice to meet you also over here!!!

great looking nymph. What’s an equivalent material to “elytron”?

The material what I,ve used for the “elytron” is a piece of foil what was used for a present of my daughter. And I saved it from the trash-bin. This foil has a oil shining look.
An substitute for this material could be also anti-static foil what is used for computerparts.
Or other foil where a bit of Aluminium(oxide) on is evaporated. e.g. the innerside of an patato-chips bag.

Sounds like mylar foil.

Ed

It sounds like a tinsel-like material to me. It has the same shimmer effect as a soap bubble. I’ve seen it used a lot in balloon bouquets to wrap the candy or weight and as decoration when giving a gift in a bag…sticking out of the top of the bag.

Elytron see here, is the wingcover of an insect - ie beetles etc.

Any material such as ES film, mylar sheeting, flashback etc can be used for this application.

Makes for a nice buzzer pattern! The biots set it off well, inderk.
