Agitator variation SBS

Swapped out the marabou tail with cc rabbit for a little more body and the jig hook for a straight-eye; I was out of schlappen so I double-hackled with a Chinese neck, just using the meatier butt section. Change colors to suit your needs.

hook - Eagle Claw 413 #2
thread - UTC 140 hot orange
tail/body - cross-cut rabbit hot orange
flash - Flashabou gold
hackle - fuschia
head - chenille hot orange
eyes - dumbell large silver

Part 1

mash barb; tie in eyes right at the angle and brush on a little Super Glue

tie in rabbit; brush shank with Super Glue, wrap rabbit, tie off/trim

tie in flash on either side; trim

tie in (folded) hackle; sweep fibers back while wrapping, tie off/trim

strip end of chenille, tie in

Part 2

a couple wraps behind the eyes

cross over the top to the far side

around the far eye, then cross over to the near side

around the near eye, then cross over the top again

tie off/trim, whip, SHHAN

Nice tie but make sure you sharpen those Eagle Claw 413’s…definitely not the sharpest hook around. I definitely like the look of the fly on a jig hook, regardless. All that rabbit is going to that much tough to throw when wet, but will definitely be more durable as well, which is probably a big plus if you going after salmon instead of steelhead.
