Agate and Agatine

Agate and Agatine…what is the difference. Is Agatine a synthetic agate? Thats what I’m assuming. Any way to tell the difference if you have a pile of them?

One difference is that Agate often has variations in color where Agatine is quite uniform in color. Pics might help.

Thanks for the pictures. I used a flashlight to look for banding in the guides and feel that I got them pretty well sorted. I guess my big question was to just find out if agatine was synthetic.
