Adams Humpy SBS

Rough water version; subbed moose body for brown/grizz hackle fiber tail (sorry, Allan).

hook - Dai Riki 320 #14
thread - UTC 70 brown
tail - moose body
abdomen - muskrat dubbing
hump - deer hair
wings - hackle tips grizzly
hackle - brown/grizzly

Part 1

Mash down barb, start thread at 60% mark; wrap back to point above barb

clean, stack, measure (shank) a clump of moose body; tie in, trim butts

clean, trim some deer hair (I tie in at the butts to get the thicker section of the fiber for a bit more buoyancy); tie in

dub thread, dub abdomen up to 60% mark

pull deer hair up/over back, twist slightly (clockwise in Northern hemisphere, counter in the South); tie down, trim butts

Part 2

take a pair of hen hackle tips (= to gap width), put them together with the tips curving away from each other, measure for length (entire hook); tie in at 70% mark

trim butts, smooth with thread; pull wings up/back and wrap in front to set the proper angle

tie in hackle; wrap in sequence

tie off, trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Regards,
Scott
