Abu Garcia fly rod

Hi All. I have a Abu Garcia Conolon S637 fly rod that my father had before he passed away. It says that it is dry fly action possibly 6 or 7 weight(the lettering is worn off here). can anyone give me any info on this rod? I have not been able to find too much on it yet other than a couple of auction postings. I am interested in any details such as year made, value, or any comments from someone who has used one to fish with.

thanks
Brian

take some pictures of it & give a more detailed description of it over here:

Does it have a square cork grip?

Garcia rods were rated by stars on the label
2-5 with 5 being best
The Wulff and Ritz series rods had no stars and were top of the line

I have an early Conolon (POS) and a Garcia three star, 6 1/2’ 6wt.
Not my favorites

The first real fly rod I bought was an 8 ft 8 WT, Lee Wulf, dry fly action by Garcia. I paid 60 something dollars in 1975. I also have a 6 ft 6 Wt Lee Wulf by Garcia. Paid 25 dollars about 1976. Came with a sock and an aluminum case.

Love the 6 footer. It was my favourite smallie rod for years. Still have both of them in great shape. Not sure if they have any collector value or not. Can check it out soon through a dealer I know.

I have found that beginners can cast the 8 ft 8 WT with little effort. Seems to be a very forgiving rod.

Thanks for the info. I will get some more info and a picture.

with a square grip! It is a four-star 2402D 7’ Dry Fly Action C HCH-HCF-6. It’s in MINT condition. Any collectors’ value???

Why dont you just ask Abu Garcia directly?
