thread - Uni 6/0 tan/MFC 8/0 brown
tail - moose body
egg sac - deer hair chartreuse
body - deer hair
wing - hen hackle tips grizzly
hackle - brown/grizzly

Part 1

mash barb; start thread at hook point, wrap to barb

clean, stack, measure (a bit less than shank) a clump of moose body; tie in, trim butts short

clean, trim a clump of chartreuse deer hair; surround shank, 2 soft loops, pull tight

clean, trim standard deer hair; 2 soft loops, let it spin, half hitch in front and pack

repeat as many times as necessary to fill up 60% of the shank; trim thread

Part 2

flip it over, lay razor on hook eye as index for belly, push straight back

rough cut

full-figured

attach brown thread, take a pair of hen hackle tips (gap width), put them together with the tips curving away from each other, measure for length (not quite shank length); tie in at 80% mark

Part 3

trim butts, smooth with thread; pull wings up/back, wrap in front and between to set the proper angle

tie in hackle

wrap hackle, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
