I finaly tracked my doctor down. I was scheduled for a check up prior to the Michigan Fish-In. However he had started his own prictice in the town of Lakeview, MI (about 60 miles away) and I got lost in the shuffel (his move and the Fish-In). His offices are in his wifes health food store and called āThe Healing Centerā. My first impression was WOW, I like this place!! Renovated store front with attached curio/gift shop. The āWaiting Roomā is in the front of gift shop and instead of reading old magazines you can browse the shop! Nice marketing ploy!
Anyway. My answers to his questions were all positive, my blood pressure was 138 over 72, a new record low for me during a doctors visit! And, Iām scheduled for blood work here in Evart tomorrow.
We discussed quiting smoking and he recommended a ākitā, all natural that worked for him, only $14.00. I hope I can report on itās effectiveness in a couple of weeks. He also suggested a book on diets for those with Type 0 blood, my evening reading. We that are so blessed āShould Eat Red Meatā! Prime Rib, T bone, NY Strip, whoo haaa!!
No potatoeās though, just have to settle for bigger salads!
Michigan Fish-In 2016, 17, 18 etc. here I come and maybe more!!
Oh yeah, heās from West Montana so we talked some fishing too.
Hurrah, love good reports. Thanks Jack, good job!
My wife gave me a diet for my blood type.
It is the easiest diet in the world.
If it tastes good, spit it out!
Jack,
Itās good to hear you got a good report card! Now all you have to do is do what the Doctor said! Looking forward to your next visit.
Very good Jack,
Glad to hear youāre really as healthy as you looked at the AuSable FishIn. And when you dump the cigarttes itāll get even better. THe flavor of ohiotuberās delicious peanut fudge will even be enhanced.
Bill
Jack,
Good news! Now you can āchow downā at Cabelas & Tony Packos on Nov 4th!
Billā¦Jackās so good about his āsugarā that he really doesnāt eat much of the fudgeā¦thatās okā¦more for me!
Mike
Great news! Good luck with stopping smoking, let us know how it goes.
GREAT NEWS JACK,
Glad all is going good, see ya in a couple of weeks.
Bill
Good to hear the positive report. So is there a blood type that must only eat pizza, cheeseburgers, ice cream and wash it all down with a Coke? Hopefully Iām that type.
Mike
Mr. Hise,
Good for you. The best thing you can do for your health is to quit smoking though. Glad to see you give that a serious try. There is a new FDA- approved medication now available for this. It is the first nicotine-receptor blocker available to the public. Called Chantix. If the ākitā that your doctor gave you fails, ask him about that.
I bought my own father a books-on-tape version of the text about this blood-type diet for Christmas a year or two ago as well. Good luck with that. Iād be interested to hear about what you think.
Hey Jack,
Obviously your still a young man at heart. Your
still bragging about the good doctor reports instead
of exagerating the bad ones.G Tell me more about
the $14 anti smoking kit. Iām within a few days of
making the same attempt. Also, Iām curious about the
āOā bloodtype diet.G I love beef and Iām O+.G
By the way, my Doc visit is only half an hour away.
Hope I have good news to report too. Warm regards,
Jim
I am also struggling with quitting smoking and would be very interested in the kit your doctor recommended as well.
1.5 pack/day x $5.50/pack = $625 in savings in 2.5 months ā¦ this means with success, you can buy yourself the new Sage Z for Christmas and not have to explain a new rod to anyone !?!
Good Luck !
Good Luck! Jack and Jim on your goal to quit smoking.
I am one of the lucky ones because I tried my first cigarette when I was very young and about choked to death. I guess that Iāve saved a lot of money because of it.
Your health is more than not smoking, it is being dedicated to all aspects of diet and exercise.
I know you guys can do it!
Take Care,
Doug
This bit of support from someone who quit a āfewā years back. Tell everyone you know that you have quit smoking. That acts positively in two ways. One, that many more people will be supporting your resolve, and Two, that many more people will know of your weak character should you weaken. Kits, schmitz, itās ultimately your determination that will help you overcome the habit. The kits probably will act as a psychosomatic inducement and THATās not all bad either. Itās a bit like paying someone $1000 to help you quit. Youād be pretty foolish to re-smoke after paying . He my not actually āhelpā you but the fact that you paid the money demonstrated your resolve and THAT is what it takes, R-E-S-O-L-V-E.
Good Luck , no question better health is in the balance
PS: Quitting is easy, Iāve ā¦(you know the rest)
Jack,
I think I remember a post a year or so ago that you had quit smokingā¦I do know how hard it isā¦I had quit for 5 months about 6 or 7 years backā¦why in gods name I ever started again is beyond meā¦Best of luck in the questā¦I know it can be doneā¦My mother who smoked for over 40 years has been smoke free for the past 5 yearsā¦ and yesā¦ I hear it from her all the timeā¦
