I understand using squirrel. What does a “flexible pattern” mean? Sorry, I am new to the game. Thanks in advance.

Keels…feeling even less testy today…I’ll postpone the swap until after the 1st of the year. :slight_smile:
Flexible means any pattern/category and since there ain’t no new patterns… the tier can be as flexible with his interpretation as he wants.

I’ll do a small streamer pattern for this on. I haven’t tied any streamers for a while but it’s a scaled down hairwing pattern. Not quite sure what to call it but it’s sort of a mini atlantic salmon hair wing. Sould be good for trout or pan fish.

I’ve seen similar patterns using coyote for the wing on size 2 hooks in my father inlaw’s salmon flies. This is on a size 10 hook. I guess I can call it red squirell and red size 10
