Or anywhere else…even if there are fish.
can I get detail of the tail? thanks
It’s just 4-5 fibers of buck tail wrapped.
“Just”??? Your hands must be far steadier than mine! Do you wrap on a needle? Nice, nice fly!!!
Betty,
No, I tie it right on the hook.
Thanks
Hi Betty,
Nothing against Byron’s excellent tie, but that is actually much easier than it looks… You just tie the buck tail fibers on top of the hook, then wind the tiny thread over them toward the back and back up toward the hook. It takes a little practice which obviously Byron has done!!!
Really nice job Byron…
Betty,
He’s right. It isn’t difficult, but its not easy either. I think it’s worth it though. Kind of fun. Much easier on larger flies.
A little PMD:
Good looking flies, as usual, Bryron.
I am curious what size hooks you’ve used for both the BWO and the PMD ??
Thanks.
John
John,
They are both size 18
