Just thought I’d post a pic of my newest fly, although I’m not so sure what I’ll catch with it!
Now, THAT is just too kewl!!!
Kilt fly,
Very nice and unique.
Please post the recipe.

Recipe? Well, it was late last night, I’ll see if I can remember. I laid down a base of black thread, which I topped off with some Hard As Nails. While still wet, I tied on a tail of Elk Hair, then tied in some red floss and about 12" of the same yarn left over from when my wife knit the kilt socks. I laid down a body of yarn, ribbed with the red floss, added and Elk Hair wing, then formed a head of red floss, which I anchored and whipped with the black thread. Not really a specific fly, just something that would match the colors of the kilt. I suppose it was kind of matching the hatch.
First kilt I’ve ever seen with a fly.
Very good KBPROCTOR.
I was wondering about that as well… “excuse me sir, your fly is open”
It was that or…
“OMG! He KILT it!”
I really like the idea, though. I have been considering a kilt for a Scouting activity I am involved with and the average kilt pin is rather yawn inducing.
