Here is a old fly,
March Brown Spider
Hook: size 12
Silk: Orange Pearsall
Tail: Partridge fibres
Rib: Primrose or Yellow silk, a fluo amber was used here, doubled and twisted.
Body: Three parts hare’s ear to one part claret seal’s fur.
Hackle: Partridge.

The March brown is always a good pattern. I’ve got some claret seal’s fur on order, so I should be able to give your mix a try as well.
Note to self: Add seals fur in a bunch of colors to the shopping list.
Oh yeah, Donald, Great looking fly as always. Love the hackle. All that movemenet must drive the trouts crazy.

I really like seal’s fur. It can be a bit rough, and finicky to dub sometimes, but it has a natural sheen and sparkle to it that looks good. Acrylic yarn can be used as a substitute in a pinch, just pull it apart to give dubbing fibres. My order just arrived, so I’ll be tying some up tonight if I get the time.
