A great British sailor has died....(not FF)

I am ashamed to admit that I did not realize that this wonderful, brave man had passed away last month. Ted Briggs was the last survivor of the Royal Navy Battleship H.M.S. Hood. The Hood was sunk in action against the German Battleship Bismarck during the Battle Of The Denmark Straight. Of the 1,421 men aboard the Hood only Ted and two of his shipmates survived. Ted was the last survivor and a man of great compassion and courage. He was one of my heroes. On this Thanksgiving Day I say thank you to Ted and all of his shipmates for their unselfish sacrifices for all of us.

I know now that Ted’s heart is no longer broken and sad for he is with his shipmates in Paradise.

A fine tribute to a brave man! 8T

Eric,
I watched a PBS special about Ted and his ship and I felt bad for him. He was a fine man.

Thanks guys. If it weren’t for men like Ted and his ship mates we would not have the liberties that we enjoy today. I only wish I could be half the man that Ted Briggs is and was.
