I love the pics and I’m jealous of your success. Eric has been one of the best contributors to this board. I just hope he realizes that our Lord & Savior prefers community rather than a lonesome existence. He wants us to spend our time together instead of apart. That idea is best for all of us, regardless.
Well he has some very good reasons not to be here. He would rather leave the board than sink to the level of name calling like some boorish individuals have done here. They know who they are too. Unlike them he does not think about himself but the damage such antics do to the board.
I won’t name any names but the person that called him a coward here is a boor. Wisdom is the better part of valor so he choose to leave the board rather than deal with some of these individuals in the manner he wanted to. He has a lot more respect for the owner of the board than the boorish ones ane their little clique do.
I must say that I missed this thread in which a fine person as Eric, was named a coward - It is a good thing that I did I guess, as this person and their clique would/should have been cowering in some dark place… this is unacceptable on FAOL… Any additional information/threats on this can be sent by PM, with your full address included… GPS coords as well.
Before anyone starts taking sides perhaps they should look up the post in question, it is still in the archives. Now lets get back to catching fish before this gets out of hand.
sorry got carried away a bit. he has given a lot to me and other folks in the area so what happened is like the 3.5 foot flame that really burns my butt. heck the guy even gives us our internet for free.
now speaking of fishing and hand i had forgotten just how stiff those spiny rays on a blue gill/bream can be. yup even on the littlest ones!
one thing i noticed is some of the fish i caught were literally bug eyed and seemed like their eyes were red from some type of irritation other htan me. i am wondering if there is a hidden problems there that i should report to the park biologist?
Now that looks like it was a lot of fun! I know you enjoyed yourself. I would report whatever you saw, even if there is nothing wrong with the fish or water. If there is or was something wrong, it would be better to handle it sooner than later.
Please keep the fishing reports coming and pictures. I know I enjoy them and I know Eric would or does.
Just remember that what goes around does come around.
Welcome to FAOL - Rock bass have red eyes! And also, for your edification and viewing pleasure, I have included a URL for the Painted turtle, your pic being a box turtle! Gotta keep you fishermen straight on your herpetology! Nighthawk would expect no less! LOL!! Thanks for sharing your photos!
I must admit that the only passion I hold for turtles is to put them in a cooking pot. Box, painted, snapping…bet they all taste about the same…delicious when done properly. I no longer kill turtles but I only ate the snapping variety because the others are just too small to bother with. That and the fact that the smaller turtles may not be legal to harvest but snappers are here in Pa.
The following recipe is not for the squeamish! Read at your own risk! Turtle soup:
Rock bass do inhabit those waters but non were brought to hand. Large mouth bass and blue gills do not normally have red bulging eyes. These eyes were blood shot like something was irritating them.
