A Cuddyer Year?

working on a “rebuilt” five weight with the fouth time out and still no strike. I’ve been hit with the JC Curse! If I ever, ever, ever get a strike I’ll be on bended knee. This is one of Dan Craft’s Five Rivers rods that casts so beautifully, and now I’m starting to wonder. Does it have any “fish” in it? Which brings me to the new MN Twin’s third baseman, Michael Cuddyer, who was 0-5 with bases loaded until Friday night when he knocked in three runs with two doubles with bases loaded and two outs. If Cuddyer can do it, can I? JGW

had my flie in the water the other day and started musing about why I was n ot catching much. Daydreaming. Musta been at least half a minute or so. POW! Seems just letting that fly drift slowly in the pond is what was needed.

JGW,

Can you hit for the Twins like Michael? I would have to put my money on NOT my friend.

Can you catch fish with this rod which seemingly has “no fish in it”? Most certainly, it is just in a slump and will shortly come out of it. It just needs a few more “at fish” attempts to be successful.

On the other hand, if it doesn’t come around you can send it to me for some work in the minors. As soon as it has learned and comes out of the slump I will gladly send it back.

Helpfully yours,

Rick
