Underbelly: White bucktail:
Underwing: 4-5 strands of peacock herl
Throat: White schlappen
Wing: 4 grizzly hackles
Shoulders: Red rooster cape feather
Cheeks: Jungle cock

Kennebago Streamer (Herb Welch)
Tail: Orange hen saddle feathers
Butt: In three parts, taking up the back third of the fly, peacock herl, light blue floss, peacock herl
Body: Flat gold tinsel with oval gold tinsel rib
Throat: Orange hen saddle feathers
Wing: 2 red hackles inside 2 silver badger hackles

Note how the wings of the Carrie Stevens pattern are tied in the Rangeley style, not quite on top but also not quite on the sides of the hook. The Herb Welch pattern has the wings tied right on top of the hook. I have heard this style of wing called “Eastern Style” but it also has other names.

Enjoy,

Alberto

Beautiful flies, Alberto.

Scott

Alberto,

Beauties!!

My biggest compliment to you is that your Kennebago Streamer is now my desktop and will be over the holidays when my family all comes together.

My son got me into the fly fishing thing and he’s a great tier. He’ll give you verbal kudo’s also when he sees it!!

Merry Christmas!

Jeremy.
