Yup, been doing it that way ever since I found it in The Flytyer’s Benchside Reference. I just use the cut off tag end of thread.

I’ve not seen that before. Great tip!
The organza fibers for the wings is an idea I’ll try this spring, I know the fibers won’t get water logged and sink for quite a while, should float nice and high in the water film too.
