A "BIG" Thank You for a member....

I received a box in the mail today form Jared (CO_Flyfisher on FAOL) and I was almost in tears when I opened it up. I will not say what was in it because Jared may not approve. What was in it is not what is important. The fact that he purchased it and sent it to me was just fantastic! Jared was sent to Tennessee by his employer to work on a project at Arnold Air Force Base and he was here for about 2 weeks. During that 2 week period Jared, Jack Hise and my self done a lot of fly fishing when Jared was not working and we had a great time. Jared is one very good person to be around and fish with. I really enjoyed getting to know him and fish with him. We fished, tied flies, ate out and toured the stores on the Lynchburg square and just had a good time. I really do not feel worthly of the gift he sent me, but, it is something that I always wanted and kept putting the purchase off.

Jared, “thank you very, very much”. If your employer ever sends you back this way again, you do not need a motel room. Consider my home yours for as long as you need it. I only wish there was some way I could repay you or some way that I could convey how much your gift means to me. It will be used on every fishing trip I am on.

Thank you so very much…

Your FAOL Friend,

Warren,

Good people seem to be the habit around here, as I have seen by the many friends I have made here.

I also recieved a suprise UPS box from Jared! It was unexpected and will be put to good use. But, how did he know I was almost out!!??

Thank you Jared and I hope you get back this way soon!

Congratulations Warren,

Couldn’t of happened to a nicer more well deserving guy than you…See Warren, you DO reap what you sow!

Dang!

Looks like Jared is following right in Obama’s footsteps and redistributing the wealth…Good for you Jack!

Sounds like you and Warren treated Jared to the Red Carpet treatment and he was just showing his appreciation in return…Nice going guys!

Thanks-Really good to see a post from you. How have you been?

I second that…it is indeed good to see you aka…

I know from experience that Warren and Jack treat any visitor from FAOL to Tennessee like Kings. Two better men would be hard to find. I love them both.

Guys,
The pleasure was ALL mine!!! I got a little “thank you” from work after I got home, and I couldn’t think of a better way to share it!!! Warren, if you would like to share what “it” is I really have no problem with that (same goes for you Jack); I just hope it fits well.

You guys truly do roll out the red carpet for us strangers, and people like that are really hard to find these days. This was the least I could do for you guys to show my appreciation. I don’t know when I’ll be back down there, but I will let you guys know when I do and I look forward to it.

Sorry I didn’t see this thread sooner, but I took the family up to the 'Pan for another extended weekend, this time with my in-laws. I can’t complain; I’ve spent 6 full days up there (and an additional 4 partial days due to driving) in the last three weeks, and I’m going to spend a week at the Green River in Utah in a couple of weeks. A good way to spend the rest of my “thank you” from work.

Anyway guys, don’t mention it; It was my honor. You don’t realize how much better the trip seemed to go and how much faster the time away from my family went having good friends to fish with! Thank YOU! :tieone:

PS - Jack, two additional spools were apparently back-ordered and should be shipping sometime in the next week.

“IT” was a Tilley LT5B hat and I really love it!!! I had a large skin cancer removed from the top of my left hand about a month or so ago and I decided it was time to protect my ears, face and neck areas and the Tilley just looked like the hat to do it. When Jared was here he had one and was kind enough to let me try it on and I could not believe how light it was. The “B” stands for breathable and I felt this would make it cooler to wear in the hot sun of Tennessee. This past Saturday I put my NuCanoe in the Elk River and paddle upstream to another creek and traveled up it for about 3 miles exploring for smallmouth. Overall, around 4 miles traveling upstream and 4 miles back and the Tilley worked out great. Hardly knew it was on my head.

Yes, I love my new Tilley and I owe it all to Jared who is one fine gentleman and I am proud to call him my friend.

Thanks Jared,

Just replying to this so those who have asked what “it” was can read it. I have had PM’s asking what “it” was.

Hey WarrenP & ducksterman,

Thanks so much for the shout out, I do appreciate it.

I’ve been having an adventure on the roller coaster called life, it’s headed downhill with me having thrown my arms in the air and screaming all the way to the bottom!

The damn loop to loop in the center is what got me! :stuck_out_tongue:

I can also attest to the welcoming attitude of our esteemed colleagues in Tullahoma and the surrounding area. Not only do you get to break bread with them (breakfast at Warren’s),

they will also let you BAKE bread for them (Italian bread at Jack’s). :stuck_out_tongue:

You would be hard pressed to find a better way to spend your time than to be around these fine gentlemen, and this is why som many are honored to call then “friend.”

Terry,

Good to hear from you and sorry for the “roller coaster” ride you are having. If there is anything I can do to help out, please feel free to let me know. Take care, keep the Faith and stay in touch.

Joe,

Thanks for posting the pictures. They sure brought back some fond memories of a great time together. Please make the trip again soon.

Hey Terry, good to see you on here again. I know all about that coaster ride. I have been on it for the last year and a half and still have not got to the bottom of the hill. Things just seem to be getting worse. This area is so depressed as far as the economy goes it is not funny. I have been out of work for a year and have been unable to find a new job. Seems like anybody around here does any hiring all they want to do is hire young people. But seeing you post again has put a smile on my face. Take care Terry.

Elkhunter…

It’s good to hear your voice…

We need to all …hang in there…

Good friends are hard to find! I am honored to call Jack and Warren my friends.

Joe - That breakfast there at Warren’s sure looks tasty!!! :mouthwatering: I need to get your english muffin reciepe sometime (esp. if you have a sourdough version).

Warren and Jack - I’ll be trying the TN leech (B&W Chicago leech) in UT next weekend from my drift boat. With any luck, some big Browns will find it appetizing.

Jack, I show the other two spools shipped last Friday. Keep an eye out!

Jason;
Got them!

Folks I now have 1000 yds. of Berkley Vanish Transition Gold which is equal to 44 7’ furled leaders!! I better get busy!!
