This is another of the military rods. This was built on a 9’ 4pc #8 American Tackle blank. I’m not sure what the wood is that I used for the reel seat, fighting butt, and handle, but the spalting makes for an interesting rod. Snake Brand guides and Lemke hardware for the reel seat.

That’s no understatement! The lathe has paid for itself several times already.
I may have already posted on another forum but that grip is outstanding … I need to see if there is any cottonwood bark around this area as I like that look. While the reel seat appears unstated it flows right into the butt.
