Friends called up earlier this summer with a proposition. Come down to Quebec City for a day and test side-by-side several 8weight rods.
Well, I never to pass up an opportunity to cast a line, so I readily accepted! Up and early on the last Saturday of August, I drove over to the Montmorency Falls about 5 minutes from downtown Quebec City.
I don’t know about elegant but effective you are. I can’t wait to try Sage’s the One. I am using an Xi3 in the salt and find it very effective for long days and windy weather. Look forward to hearing the full review from the group of you.
Hey Dude!
Effective, … Humbly I will agree. We had a nice season here. Over a dozen Atlantics to hand and visitors had a blast too!
I’m using a lot of switch rods now. A whole lot easier on the shoulder !!! Quite a few anglers up here are going to full blow DH rods (+13 ft) but they are really needed on a few select runs here. I prefer the 11’6" models for now. My workhorse rod this past season was a GLomis Roaring Rivr Switch 5wt!
