75th Anniversary of the start of WWII

Not a date to be celebrated, but to be observed, strangely I have not heard any mention of this on any radio or television station today. It was arguably the start of the greatest event or series of events in modern history. It took 6 years and 1 day to complete the total defeat of the Axis powers and free millions from oppression. Sadly, it did not free the world from oppression, which I guess will continue until the end of time on Earth.

I suspect the lack of observation is due to the American perspective that WWII started with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, not the invasion of Poland by Germany. Thank you for your reminder of the European start of the was.

Not to mention that the war in Asia started in 1931 with the Japanese invasion of Manchuria.
