Caught a steelhead measuring over 40 inches long and over 20 pounds in weight?

LF holds a ‘Field & Stream’ award. Not sure of the size, but they didn’t give out medals for many SH. It was kind of big tho…
I’ve caught alot of Steelhead but I don’t think I have caught any that were nearly fourty inches long. My hat’s off to LF for catching one that size.

My best was a 39 18, not quite a 40 20 but close. lol. He adorns my bedroom wall. I’m still trying for that 20+ pound fish.
I am in no way sure how long it was. Probably not that long. It was big tho. Come to think of it, I don’t think it was 20 pounds either. As I recall, we saw a few that size, but I don’t think either of us ever got one. Hers came from the PM in Michigan.
One 40" fish here, but I highly doubt it would have gone 20 lbs. maybe 18. A B-run from the Lower D a few winters back.
Kerry, I have seen some of the fish from the Skagit up your way and they are slobs for sure!
