I have arived at the outerbanks and life is good. Have not hit the salt let but the ponds on the golf coures are treating me and my four yr old son well. Monday he caught 5 little bucket mouths on his lighting mcqueen rod. Yesterday we went to the fly rod (this was his first time with the rod). He caught 2 and did not set the hook real good on a few more. I got my arobic workout dodging his casting (thank goodness I bent the barb down). There were some old men watching and coulod not beleive that a four yr old could cast a fly rod. Well he is addicted and ready to go out again today. All I can say is my back hurts from have to bend over backwards on get out of the way of his casting (well at least noone will get in his fishing stop at the same time he is). His cast look good when he is not destracted by something. Thanks again to Joe for sending me the rod. Pics will be coming soon I hope.
That sounds like a proud dad to me!
What a treat to be able to see your boy casting and catching on his own.
I’ve had my almost-2 year old with me and helped him cast a few times this spring as well. We’ve landed a whole mess of blue gills, and 4 LMB together with the biggest being about 2-2.5 lber.
Can’t wait to see the pics!

That is about as good as it gets !! You’ll get over the sore back, but never the memories. Sorry about that.
