Imitator Shrimp
This shrimp pattern is especially effective on a variety of coastal saltwater fishes. I’ve
found it very good for our fat snook here in Brazil, but it should also work very well for
spotted seatrout, among others. This fly is very resistent because its body is made of
epoxy. It can be tied on several different colors, like brown, chartreuse and white. In
this case I listed the materials necessary to tie a pink version, like the one in the photos.
Materials
Hooks: Daiichi X452 or similar, sizes 8 to 1.
Thread: Pink, 6/0 or 3/0.
Tail: Pink calftail and two brown grizzly hackles.
Antennae: Orange Krystal Flash.
Eyes: Black plastic bead.
Wing: Pink Calftail.
Body: 5 minute Epoxy.
Weedguard: 30 or 40 lb. mono, (optional).
